Yep. Same exact thing happened to my T/A. I went to open the door one day and saw the crack, looked over at the passenger side, there was a crack in it too! and i agree, i think its the cold weather that dad it, not the sun. Thanks for the little write up, thats a big help, now i just got to do it.

That sucks, I've never had that crack when I had the T/A but I also always covered it. The camaro has leather at that spot so it has no problems flexing with the cold or heat.

Got this same crack on the 99 Firebird (both doors). The 97 Camaro doesn't have it. Both have been exposed to the same conditions.

BOTH doors here as well! Both mine are as bad as pictured above and both happened in wintertime! This must be MUCH more common then we first thought.

Ahh **** i was wondering where my inch long crack on the driver's side door came from. It seems to get larger over time. Also when i look at the same area on the pass. side you can sorta see a stressed area...hard to notice but i'll try to get pics of it tomorrow.

I just did the fix above where you take out the staples, then glue and re-attach. It worked pretty well.

I have the same crack...and its on both door panels. My car is in storage for winter and I went and started it up yesterday and noticed that the entire top or the drivers side door panel is faded like plastic does when it is stressed....it's a real eye sore.

I just got a crack on the passenger side of my 30th TA. I am sooo pissed off. Does anyone know if I could buy a used door with grey leather and then replace the grey leather with the white leather off my cracked door?

Is this only on LS1 cars or am I just one of the lucky ones?

Since I'm putting in leather, I was going to look for a set with leather inserts and the Monsoon speaker set-up but now I think I'll just re-cover the cloth inserts with vinyl and not chance getting panels that will crack.

Default Crack

I just bought a 2000 WS6 last month and it has that same crack on the passenger side of the car! It has tan interior so you can't say it is just the dark colors. I have had a 95 formula and a 97 WS6 and never had this problem before!!

I just noticed mine on the drivers side... looks just like the pic above of the one that's broken all the way thru. This is a factory problem... not sure what it takes for a recall to get started, but one should be for this. I'll bet for every person on here that has mentioned the crack, there's 50 that have it that haven't.

I guess when I go to pull my stereo out for weight reduction, and pull the door bars, I have another project to go along with it..... figureing out a way to screw/pop rivit that rubber molding onto the door, and epoxy up the crack. I just hope I get to it before both sides crack, or the drivers side gets any worse.
