As far as the heat goes....the rims in the front should get very hot near the lugs and center area, the outer part of the rim near the tire just gets warm/hot sometimes, from normal driving. Rear rims usually won't get as hot.

Car all over the road.....what the hell!!!!!

check your caliper slides to make sure that move in and out freely. also when you compress the pisons back into the caliper do they go in easy or does it take alot of pressure to compress them?

wheels getting hot is normal. did you bleed the brakes? what kind of pads/rotors did you use?

does it handle bad just in general or while braking?

Warped rotors are the only thing I've ever heard of that makes the steering wheel shake violently side-to-side while braking. Unless somehow the rim(s) is not seating all the way onto every lug nut and its just totally misaligned.

if its vibrating when you turn then you have a bad hub bearing.
they are sealed so you have to replace the whole hub but there only about 80 bucks and not hard to swap out.

before you replace the hub bearing... Is one side hot in comparison to the other? someone said to check caliper slides, my money is on that. when you hit the brakes does it pull, or stop straight? Then the other potential cause, check to make sure there is no rust on the face of the hub. some rotors have a small hole at the hub and rust builds up in there, then when you put the new one on the rust is not lining with the hole, its always a good idea to clean the hub to make sure the rotor is sitting flat, so you dont get pulsations.. and last option, rotors you bought were warped out of the box... Auto is good for that. if the rotors are stored improperly.. it happens...
