Hmm, pulled the carpet, what are all these?
I just pulled the carpet out of my car while I'm doing some work on it, and found a bunch of stuff that wasn't connected. I've never done this before, and am new to working on cars in general. Can anyone please tell me what these are and if they should go to something? Its odd, for the most part, everything works, so I have no idea what these are for!
The car is a '95 Trans Am with an automatic.
Thanks in advance
Amanda
First picture:
Passenger side rear, is attached to the cable that goes to the antenna.

Fourth pic:
There's a box beside the e-brake under the console. First of all, what is it? Second of all, what are the two snipped wires that are in my hand? Sorry for the dumb questions

First Pic - Looks like the connectors for the power antenna. One is for the antenna and the other is for the power motor.
Second Pic - Looks like one of the connectors for either the cigarette ligher or the accessory power port.
Third Pic - My guess is the connector for the CD changer. (Even if your car didn't come with all of the options, you'll still have the wiring and connectors for many of them.)
Not sure on the others.

not dumb questions boo! is your car auto everthing? electric windows, mirrors, seats? gm is good about leaving wires unhooked instead of not putting wires there if its not fully optioned out... i used to drive a 95 camaro, now im in a 98 transam, before i had alot of unhooked wires, now they are all connected to something...

Thanks so much for the replies guys! I feel like an idiot asking all this, but I gotta learn somehow!
The car has power mirrors, power locks, power doors, etc. I think its got every option except cruise control.
If someone could confirm that those two rear connectors are for the cd changer and the power antenna, that'd be great. I've already gotten rid of the power antenna and wouldnt mind stripping out the wiring. Every pound counts!

The second pic: I found this in my 2000 Formula, think I tapped power off of it for my aftermarket gauge. Not sure what it was for
Third pic: May be for the optional cd changer.
Fourth pic: I believe is the infamous black box I've heard of. Records speed, etc for crash investigations.
Not sure about the others. Hope I helped.

^^ yes seriously. It's a little mysterious but I've also heard it contains the g-sensors for the airbags.
The loose wires in the 4th pic look aftermarket. The general didn't use those cheap crimp conectors.
Fifth pic, look under the car. I think that box is a junction that goes through the rear firewall. I could be 180* off though.

Hmm, I'm deleting the airbags, can I scrap the black box? Or will the computer have a heart attack?

first pic, i would assume it has something to do with the power antenna.
second pic, looks like the connector that goes to the little light inside the ash tray.
third pic, is for the cd changer
fourth, i have no idea, but that black box thing makes sense.
last pic, could connect from the asr switch to the brake stuff which is on the underside of the car, drivers side-back seat

I'd also recommend getting these books: http://www.helminc.com/helm/product2...95F&itemtype=N They are pricey but worth every penny. They have descriptions for all the systems, wiring diagrams, connector specs, etc. You may even be able to get inexpensive used copies off of ebay - several deals going on now: http://shop.ebay.com/?_from=R40&_trk...All-Categories
