Question For those car stored with a BATTERY TENDER, come on in...

Like most, my car sits in its garage all winter and the optima battery stays on a battery tender, my question is: For those with the Battery Tender Jr, do you just use the alligator clips to secure the charger wires to the battery or did you hard wire the unit? The ends that come with the tender for hard wiring are too small to go under the terminals of a gm side post battery which mean either I have to get an over sized lug for the positive post and swap out the nice one that they have or mount in some other fashion? I also hear some buy the optional cigarette adapter and charge their battery thur the cockpit...so how do you guys hardwire yours?
