Exclamation Is my ls1 nonfixable?

alright, well my car has bee acting up quite bad lately. I'll be driving and my car will start to back fire and i will lose power, while having my fot on the gas it acts like its starving for gas and acts like it wants to do, I'll mash the gas pedal down and it wil pick up a little speed and then the car will catch and takes off and back fire continously. I think there is dirt in the cylinder wall and i know its in the intake a little, and i cleaned out the TB, it was dirty. any thoughts why my car is doin such a thing, i baby it the majority of the time driving it, and i take care of much of it as i can.

yeah, flashing CEL is a bad thing. Check to see if your MAF is plugged in or damaged.

flsahing CEL for me was 2 misfires, easily fixed for me.... i had a similar situation that i'm in the processa of fixing. my LTs had melted through the extensions i used on my O2s in three different places and caused a short that messed with the computer and caused backfires at anything above about 20% throttle.... i took out my O2s and everything ran fine for the most part, i'm in the process of resetting the PCM and putting new vette O2s, everything should be fixed after that....

When they pull the codes write them down it helps out a lot and you will not forget.

Codes are P0300's. Sucks but I've dealt with them many times.

Had the same deal. Threw a total of 11 codes when I got my 02 sensors wet and toasted them. Just replaced them. All is good. We need all the obdii codes though to help.

yeah i know im throwing codes for my 02 sensors, and the computer is also saying a random misfire and wont tell me what it is. i changed my plugs, thought it was the case, but no, runs better, except when it starts misfiring more often. could be just my 02 sensors? and my check engine light flashes when the car misfires and when it runs fine the light stays on.

Flashing CEL is misfire.

Listen to what your car is trying to tell you. If you're throwing O2 codes it's going to tell you which bank front or rear. When a closed loop system loses an input it puts the car into open loop. That means it goes back to a preset table or basically a safe mode.

I changed a set of knock sensors tonight for a guy that was getting false knock. This particular event also caused multiple misfires. It could be a number of things depending on exactly what the codes are.

What are ALL of the exact codes?

The "technical" term for the SES light flashing is "catalyst damaging misfires". Meaning there is a potential that you are dumping raw fuel into the converter which will destroy it fairly quickly.

Check your spark plug wires, they may be bad. One way you can do it is at night, make sure there is no light in your engine bay and start it. If you see blue sparks they are most likely bad. Also if you have longtubes they may be making contact with the spark plug wires. Disconnect your o2 sensors and see what happens, if it runs fine then is your o2's.

It doesn't have to be spark related at all to cause a random misfire as explained in the link in my earlier post.Vacuum leak is more likely.
