SEE light on and flashing!!!!
Hey want to see some input as to what people might think this is...
So I was diving the other day and took my 2000 TA with LTs n lid to about 5k on RPMs not doing anthjng crazy and shifted and then he car started to mis and the SES light came on and stard to flash... I ran the codes and it trned up PO300 and PO308 the 300 is random misfire and the 308 is misfire in cyl 8. Did a visual check of wires and coil connections and everything looks good. Any ideas??? Haven't had the time to look at it in detail due to the snow here up north. I'm gonna try and post a video to go along with the post soon... Any input would be great thanks!

did you mis-shift? could be a injector, have even seen the rocker arm bolt pulled out of the cylinder head. i would double check the wire/coil and plug connection and check the other 2 things i suggested.

check your cyl 8 spark plug wire again but actually see the wire and inspect it good. take it out if you have to to really look at it. Im betting the thing got burned with the lts. if that fine then your wire may be arcing on the header and causing that misfire. how long have the LTs been on?

I havent checked the wire...the LTs have been on there for about 1-2yrs now and since the car isnt a daily driver ive only put on around 10K on it with them. the car only have 27XXX....i guess the next thing it to start checking wires and the coil....do you think the plugs could be bad? Also since its states random misfires does this does mean that its not just misfiring in just cyl 8 rite??

sweet motor. i cant see the vid cuz i got dial up tonight, but I would really start with that wire. My lt1 did the same thing after i put some lts on it; random misfire and x cylinder misfire. I changed plug wires and it was fine. i don't see any reason why it would be anything else. the car doesn't have too many miles so I doubt the plug would be bad, unless whoever installed the LTs seriously didn't know what they were doing and stuck them in oil or something. so yeah, highly unlikley.
By the way, how do you keep that motor so clean? mine gets all dusty and crap real fast.
EDIT: The computer might just think that its random because the ability for the spark to reach that cyl might be hit and miss. Also, if it turns out the wire is fine, I would check the coil next. It should be an easy fix overall....

as far as keeping it clean....i just wipe it down every now and then....a buddy of mine who works for a dealership and has a impala SS says that they spray the cars with windex when the engine is cold and then start it up, wait for it to just start to warm up (not a temp), and wash off with the hose...then hit it with armor all and ive seen his and it is awesome...looks like new seriously.
Gonna check the wires ill get back to ya...thanks

Man i'm have the same problem with my 02 Z28! Its driving me crazy!! I've been gettiing that PO300 missfire code and i have changed almost everything i can think of. From the plug and wires, O2 sensors, battery, and Alternator. My car sounds just like yours does, it has sum valve train noises now too. Have you found your problem? If so what was it? Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!
