Taking the filter out and puttin sand in the airbox is a great idea, it will help to smooth out your cylinder walls. You should put it in the oil also to smooth the bearings down, nobody wants rough bearings in their engine

I commented in the same thread. Guy said the filter fits like ****, never seals, gets stuff in there, etc. Of course he got defensive when asked if he used the gaskets that came with it.

We've all had a good laugh, but in the OP's defense I understand what he was trying to do. The other auto forums I'm a member of all have stickies covering detailed how-tos on the most basic of routine maintenance.
