Mobil 1 10w30 is now thinner at operating temp then the 5w30. I don't know when the formula changed, but I would consider going back to M1 5w30. I would assume it was pressure from GM for the oil burning problems. At 100cSt it is 11.3 where the 10w30 is closer to 10 flat.

I think you meant 100 degrees centigrade. Otherwise, your statement makes no sense.

The tech sheet from Mobil 1 shows the formulation has changed for 5w30. The viscosity at operating temp is now 11.3. The other grades of Xw30 except for the High Mileage blends are still showing a viscosity of 10 at operating temp. 5w30 is now the thickest multigrade 30 weight oil they make at operating temp for the regular Mobil 1 line. I think it is arguably a much better oil and plan to switch back to it. I just bought some at Walmart and plan to see if I have a better experience with it now, because the valvetrain used to be much louder when it was used instead of the German Castrol. Now the operating temp viscosity of these oils are very close to each other, but the GC is still slightly thicker.
