Post How To: Windshield Wiper Motor Pulse Board

Basically I'm posting this because I did a search on the problem I'm having and didn't come up with the solution until I read 5 different threads.

Problem: Windshield wipers engage improperly or don't engage. This can be a broadly defined problem with the wipers not responding correctly to the switch position.

Symptoms:
My Issue: Wipers do not delay and continue to wipe on "Slow speed" when switched to "Off" position. Wipers will return to off position and stay off if the switch is in the "Off" position and the ignition is turned off and then the engine is restarted.
Other Issues: Wipers do not respond in the delay position; Wiper motor may emit a noise; Wipers perform on different settings contrary to the switch position; Any issue involving wiper function that does not appear to be caused by faulty/worn transmission parts.

Solution: Replace the Wiper Motor Pulse Board on the Wiper Motor located under the wiper arms / transmission. For reference the attached PDF is for a 2001 Olds Aurora, but should be similar if not almost identical to the 1993-2002 F-body Camaro / Firebird.

My 99 Camaro wipers do not turn off until the ignition is turned off.

The wiper control board (pulse board) is a component that is attached to (is a part of) the wiper motor assembly. If you are going to the trouble of replacing the wiper pulse board, you might as well change the wiper motor too while you are in there. They are most often sold as a single component.

Warning: I replaced my wiper motor and pulse board twice and my wipers do not turn off unless the ignition is turned off.

I beleive my issue is a bad wiper switch and this is located in the steering column.

If you have wiper problems do not automatically assume your pulse board is bad.

Thanks OP, I replaced the windshield wiper motor pulse board and it fixed the issue of the wipers only turning on with the washers.

The "pulse module" is part of the wiper motor - it's called the "wiper motor cover kit" by General Motors because it includes the circuit board with the motor lower cover. The part number 12367295 is the same for all 93-02 f-bodies and is available for $40 on Amazon (which is pretty good since it's $68 on Rock Auto).
