Default lost power!

I was driving one morning and i wanted to pass a car. So i stepped on it a little, when i did this the car accelerated then all of a sudden it let off on its on, still accelerating but with less force (lost power). AFter the car has been feeling weird.

When i turn the car on it idles lower than what it should be. When i drive it almost wants to die. When i put it into reverse it dies(a4).

I think it might be a cylinder not firing. i replaced all the coil packs and spark plugs along with new wires. and still no change.

The only codes im getting is missfire codes. at idle and light acceleration.

Car is cammed a4 stalled. I dumb founded. Im gonna try to clean the maf and see what goes on.

Fuel filter pretty old?

Dirty or leaking fuel injector can do that too......

Check the fuel pressure. Mine did that as well, turned out to be a bad fuel pump.

was this only at idle? try to get a reading the pressure when your driving it and see where its at. change fuel filter, clean the maf sensor.

Check the condition of the MAF, especially if you have one of those oily K&N air filters...

maf was cleaned again and the cp sensor was replaced. felt like it was running betting but this afternoon same ole story.

its good to note that at the same time this happened the car developed a howling sound and it follows the rpm either in park or in D.

i think they are related but i cant pinpoint the problem. I'm gonna try to change the tranny fluid along with the filter.

Anyone else have any suggestions?

when you changed the plugs were they dark and dirty or kind of white and chalky? im sure they werent white because if they were it would be your injectors thats the problem but since you changed the injectors and still the same problem it could be the coil springs causing the plugs to turn black.

I'm assuming you don't have a scanner to read live data? Man, you sure sunk alot of money into your car "hoping" to fix it. Without a good scanner, you really are just playing guessing games and wasting money in many situations. Don't take offense to that, but sometimes you are better off just taking it to a shop in the first place unless you have extra parts laying around to test. If you can get a good scanner on it I would look at the o2 data and make sure they are switching correctly.

Also, if your MAF is actually bad, you can do all the cleaning in the world and it won't fix it. You could be chasing your tail with that as well. Try to get a known good MAF and swap yours out to see if it fixes the problem.

no offense taken.
lmao i do have efi live and with a road runner pcm so i can real time tunning.

there is no codes for maf or tranny related. i did change my coil packs as well with some accel d585s truck style packs. same issue.

half the parts that ive changed i had laying around. really was only the rails and injectors i had to buy which set me back about 120 together or so. so im good.

but do you guys still think its the maf? even though i have no codes?

Absolutely. I bet you can find many threads on this board where a new MAF solved the poor running condition and a code was never thrown.

Now, would I go out and buy a new one at this point? No, (unless you can return it if it doesn't work) but I would try to first get a good used one from a friend or somebody who has an Fbody. That is really the cheapest way of figuring it out. Did you hook up your EFI live and check the o2's? I would look into that as well.
