Default horrified... question...

ive found small ball bearings around the driveway and under my car port. they are polished steel, about 3/16" around. what are they from? is my rear end disintegrating? or could it simply be my jack? (only used 3 times tho) im worried its bearing seal somewhere, though i dont see any puddles... plus i only have car stuff in my car port, so i duno what it could be...

?????????????????????????????????????????????????? ???????????????????????

thanks for any responses ahead of time...

The first thing I'd wonder is if the neighbor kids have slingshots....

Don't panic. First of all, do these cars or even a floor jack have such bearings in them? I'm not sure but I don't think so. Only thing you can do is check your car for obvious damage like leaks. Then, drive it, listen for sounds. If you're dropping bearings out of something you'll find out about it soon enough...

I was going to suggest your steering box, but that's stupid since rack & pinion don't have bearings in them like that, do they?

I can't think of anything that would be "leaking" bearings on a car like this. What a strange problem.

I dont think theyre from the car. Im not sure if our cars even have bearings like that, but if they do, I dont think they could come out without making a mess and doing serious damage. In other words, I think you would know it if they were from the car.

The belt pulleys do have bearings about that size, maybe a little bigger, kinda doubt that is it though.

doubt its from the car......but there is a ring on the steering column that has bearings in it(you'd know if that broke, your steering wheel would wiggle) and also i cant remember if they're needle bearings or ball bearings but your throw out bearing(release bearing). and for gee whiz info, there is one signle ball bearing on the back of the hvac control

They are from the rear shopping cart type wheels on your jack, or creeper.

Have you checked your blinker fluid lately? If you ran low, your blinker bearings may have gone bad and started to fall out.
