Default Crappy door and side window design

Does anyone else hate the fact that the fbodies have pretty crappy door/window design? When I close my doors it sounds like glass rattling, feels like things are moving, etc. It is drastically different than say a honda door panel which feels firm/tight/no noise/etc.

Is there a fix for this?

I was going to sound deaden the inside of the outer door skin as well as the area behind the door panel itself. Maybe adjust those felt guides as well to make the window more firm?!?!?

Any suggestions?

Its because our doors are fiberglass with a metal inner shell. The glass is big and heavy and does not have side guides like most cars that go all the way up, it just kinda slides on the weatherstripping.

Sound deadening might help some, but in the end its still a crappy design. Enjoy your 1990s american quality

lol! I rebuilt my door panels in the 3rd gen using a very thick black plastic type panel. That plus sound deadening will keep just about all sound from transmitting through. I don't care if your kid stuffs your door full of marbles.

Its just something I learned to live with I guess. My doors rattle over bumps. Kinda sad if you ask me, considering the price of these cars new. The 91 MR2 I DD is made with much better quality materials inside and is 10 years older.

Yeah these doors are really clunky, long and heavy. It's really inconvenient to find a wide enough parking space here in England for me to park the camaro w/o dinging someone's car or vice versa.

That is one of my biggest gripes about my/our cars. I also hate the rasp you get from the exhaust because of the aluminum block and firing order.

X or H pipe gets rid of the rasp. Or stock manifolds and cats mask it pretty good.

All the felt guide things (4) are in good shape. I've replaced 2 of them.

If it's an alignment problem maybe this can help.
