Yea, stick with the standard OE GM/Delco unit.
Inexpensive, ..., comparitively, ...

They are a 'lifetime' product, why do ya need to buy a new one?
(I'm not a K&N supporter, ...)

I have an Amsoil air filter. It's washable and no lame charging kit is required.

AC/Delco A917C
No, as noted above, K&N is not the only 'permanent'.
But the AC/Delco A917C will flow just as well, & not throw excess oil into your MAF/screen/sensors.

Yea, there are some threads about flow around here, but I'm not gonna search for'em or argue about it. IMO, the K&N is hype.

It is a pain for me to get rid of dirty oil, so I have been using Jiffy Boob for changes. They always promote endless reasons to buy more services including air filters. If I can buy an air filter for $12, Jiffy Boob wil charge $25.

Having a K&N avoids this B/S.

Yeah but...you still have to clean the K&N, and those filter cleaning kits ain't free. Think about the hassle you'd have to deal with when and if you over-oil your K&N and your car starts to act funny.

And yeah, screw the quik-lube places. Install your $12 air filter yourself...

All is fun and games until those guys run a free air filter promo and throw away your $50 filter. I have to go to them due to regs where I live. Just tell them "no" on the filter and change it yourself.

Our MAF's don't get along with the filter oil. Eventually, it will make your engine feel like it came out of a Honda.

Tell them to change your oil and try the bullshit on the guy in bay 3.

And put in a paper filter yourself. It takes more time to open the hood than to change the filter.
