Exclamation New air lid

So i just put the SLP air lid on my 99 z28 and since then my car does not want to shift into 3rd gear i know the MAF links to trany. So do i need to retune my cpu or is my MAF shot and i need a new one.
trouble shot; connections, fuse, trany fluid, oil change.

P.S. car has been on park status for six months due to recent deployment although it was started for 30 mins at least twice a week, has new oil, new fuel and injector cleaner.

PLEASE HELP

Simply putting on an air lid will not cause the trans to not shift to third. If you dont believe me, put your old one back on and I bet it'll do the same thing. Perhaps the element in the MAF may have been damaged. Is your SES light on?

You're not gonna have to tune your PCM just cause you did an ls1 lid mod. I'd say chances are it's your MAF. Mine didn't trip a light when it first started going out.

Is this a manual transmission? If so, the MAF has nothing to do with the transmission because... its a manual and YOU control it.

I wonder if this is some sort of skip shift malfunction?

Like with everyone else, I HIGHLY doubt the problem is with your intake or MAF.

It is an automatic and from what i understand it the MAF sensor is linked to the transmission and it has been doing this after i installed the new air lid. Does any one know what oam resistance the MAF sensor needs to be to function properly?

Can you post a pic of your install on the lid? The MAF shouldn't have been touched, but the air temperature sensor would have. Do you have it back in?

i know if the maf is going bad it will throw a code and make the tranny shift incredibly hard because it increases the line pressure a shitton. as far as not shifting never had that problem.

could it be possable that since your car had been sitting for 6mo that the seals are dried out? I had a friend that had the same problem is why I'm asking. He only has 1st and 2nd gears.
