what tool did you guys use to get the torx

Default what tool did you guys use to get the torx

what tools/bits did you use when you guys removed the idler pulley on the ac belt, i was replacing all my belts and pulleys and the one has a torx bit head, and i cannot find a bit to remove it, im sorry if im not clear enough but im trying the best i can to explain it

It's T50 torx.

it's really tight... I gave the bolt head a sharp rap using a hammer on the end of a 3/8"x10" extension, and then I was able to twist it loose with the T50 bit on a breaker bar.

Should be able to find a bit at any autoparts store. They are usually have a sock end with the torx bit in the center.

i used a 24 inch breaker bar on that bolt.........worked like a charm

i tryed it but it stripped the screw a tad, should i try again? that is the exact bit my uncle had that i used, is it reverse threaded? or do i just need to hammer the thing into the bolt/screw thing?

i thought i had the wrong one, but seems like i have the right one

Just make sure you stablize the torx on the bolt so it doesnt strip. Your going to want to put a pipe or something to extend the ratched to get more torque, or hit it with a hammer or something

yea i used a breaker bar when i tried last night, i had it in the bolt the best i could and i striped it a bit i really am debating taking it to a shop local to me, i already have the pully but i KNOW they are gonna charge a few hundred bucks

that is exactly what i was thinking i should do , but from under the car i couldnt get a good angle, so ill jack it back up and try again maybe today or tomorrow,

make sure you are using a quality bit.........the cheap 1 i had almost screwed up the bolt

i stripped mine

When spring rolls around I'm going to try and cut the head of the bolt off.

well i found out that the reason the car was squeaking was because valvoline put on the wrong f'ing belt, so the replaced it. alls good with the world, right? NO they didnt put they rubber boot to the thottle body all the way on so i had a vacum leak, and the boot wont go back on....... f'ing dumb ***'s def. gonna do my own maintence from now on
