Default oil filter upgrade

Is there a longer filter upgrade for LS1 motors? Went and bought my first oil filter today and think there has to be something bigger?

What exactly is the benefit of having a larger oil filter? More storage for contaminants?

more oil and catch more shiit, but to me, factory size is good enought. cause my car take 5 quart oil with factory filter, and with large filter it take 5.5 quart, I hate buying extra quart and pay 4 dollar a single quart, and 5 quart is just 13 dollar ^^. I use to use large filter M1 302 or Wix 1060, but end up just go back to factory filter size cause i hate buy extra quart every oil change ^^.

The larger filter has more filter media area. The flowrate from the oil pump is the same in both cases, large filter or small filter. The filter efficiency is affected by the flowrate thru the filter media. So, with less area flowrate, for the larger filter, the efficiency of filtration will be better.

I have been using Royal Purple filters since they came out and have noticed my oil stays clean longer. Before I was using Wix and I tried K&N and Hastings as well.
