i went to a LKQ junkyard.....if you call them they have every part in their computer......ask for a 2003 chev truck with the KG3 option.....which makes it the 145 amp alt......you have to look and make sure its also a 4 pin alt......they also came in 2 pin......the 1st one they gave me was 2 pin.....lucky i noticed and swapped it out there at the yard

I have a similar problem that started tonight, but my volt gauge actually goes up when I'm driving and bounces around 16V then when I let off the gas it drops down to about 12V then surges right back up to normal. Headlights and Interior lights flicker like crazy, I have suspected the alternator for a while or loose connection, could it be the Alternator going? and whats a good upgrade, I have heard of people using a truck alt as a replacement.

I think its BS, there are hundreds maybe even thousands of people with this problem and GM is not aware of it? GM should have addressed this issue like they did with the bubbling sail panel..

This is so frustrating..

So on Monday I'm going to check grounds.. If that doesn't fix my problem then the only other thing to try is a truck alt

My car has some wierd problems surfacing lately from bucking/hesitating when cruising and maintaining a speed. today it stopped starting. From last year when i bought the car my headlights and interior lights do flicker ever so slightly. its very very faint but I notice it. This is a very common problem it seems.
