So... I've got this 96 firebird with a 3.8 that threw a CEL a few days ago with P0304 on my way home, didn't think it would be this big a deal but I'm coming up short and starting to run out of possibilities. Here's what I've done thus far:
- All Plugs
- All New Wires
- Swapped the Coils Around
- Replaced the Ignition Control Module under the coils
- Swapped fuel injector from cyl 2
- Putting a spark tester on the end of cyl 4 wire produces spark
- Plug looks brand new when I pulled it back out even though the car has been idling on it so it's not firing at all.
- Haven't been able to get my compression tester threaded into the spark plug hole because of course cyl 4 is a PITA to get to on this thing, but I was able to rig something up half assed and the pressure gauge jumps to 60 on the first crank - my temp rig isn't holding pressure so I couldn't get a final reading.
I am going to get a different compression tester in the next couple of days and finish eliminating that possibility, but from what I've seen thus far I don't think it will be a compression problem.
Do you guys have any other ideas? I'm pretty much out.
