Puddle on carpet
Puddle on carpet I just got a 1999 trans am and there was a heavy rain the other day. I went to get into my car and the carpet behind the driver's seat had a puddle of water. Neither the front seat or the back seat were wet so I dont think it was the ttops. What would cause this?
Where the seal for the driver window meet the t tops/sail panel that corner leaks and drop right in the floor board of the back seat.
Take a water hose with some one sittin in the back seat and hit that corner I am sure you will find the leak coming from that area. A new weather stripping and tad bit of silicone fix it right up.

Ok so while trying to find the leak I found out that under my drivers seat carpet was also wet. I suspect that the problem is the drainage from the ttops, but I dont know how to go about fixing it.
I have the exact same problem except my problem is on the passenger side....I just found an inch of standing water behind the passenger seat on the floor 
I highly doubt its the t-tops and the door seals are new....I got to do the hose test too.

I had the same problem. I had Circuit City install a stereo system in my car a few years back. Turns out they didn't put a rubber grommet in the firewall where the wires passed thru. If you've had an aftermarket stereo installed, take the garden hose and run water over your cowl and look for the leak at the firewall, above the brake pedal. I had to peel the carpet away from the firewall to see that there was water POURING in thru that hole just because someone felt it wasn't important to put a grommet in there. BTW the water collected in my rear floorboard as well because it will simply roll back there if u are on any kind of incline.
