Is the latch shut and the hatch open, then? Or is the open latch not locking in to the hatch when you shut it?

Just put a screw driver in there and pull up while a buddy hits the hatch release or you operate the key fob.

NP. You can also use the same trick when working with one of your other doors. Just stick a screw driver in the latch to close it so your car "thinks" the door is shut and turns off your accessories, etc. Then just pull the opposite direction when actuating the door handle and it will open up.

It isnt the latch that is keeping the hatch from closing. It is another steel bar that is stuck. I just need a pick of some one elses locking mechanism in order to see what is going on. I've looked on line but all the pics are too grainy to tell and my shop manual is also. Does any one have a pick of their hatch locking mechanism? if so I would appreciate a look see. Thanks guys.
