Default Felpro rear main seal Q.

So i bought the seal and gasket kit i noticed the inside of the seal was lightly greased
everything ive read says it shouldn't be greased what gives? Also when i was installing it
onto the cover the white plastic ring fell off. Fisrt time doing a rear main on a ls, Im stumped.

If Fel-Pro greased it then it should be greased. The plastic ring is to keep the inner seals in the correct shape BEFORE installation. After or during installation that piece no longer matters.
