Default 04 Corvette electrical issiues

So here is the deal.
I am helping a friend with his 2004 Corvette. We did a heads and cam job on the car last weekend and now its having electrical problems.

It will at random thow a code for high voltage, then the head lights will shut off and all the gages will start flipping on the dash and then the car will run like crap or die.
I can reset the codes and it will be normal again start right up, idell fine, and drive fine then it will start acting up again.

I have went through and checked all the grounds and everything appears to been fine. I found a couple of perviously burnt wires on the crank sensor that I repaired. I've tried swapping in another battery. I've even tried grounding everything to the battery and it will still act up.

I have searched for pinched wires and everything is nice and neat.

I guess the only thing I can do now is pull the whole harness out of it and go though it and figure out what is wrong.

Has anyone else every had this problem? Im about out of ideas

What is the exact code you are getting?

I wonder if the voltage regulator on the alternator might be going out?

Well I tore into it today and found that the wire going down to the starter from the alt was pretty much gone, so I had to cut it out and wire in a new fuseable link. I did not have enough time to finsish it though so I will know in the morning if that fixed it.

Its putting out 16.8 volts which is just crazy high.
