Oil leak timing cover

Default Oil leak timing cover

Hey there i need some help please.I have a 97 camaro z28 m6, i had the water pump replaced.Now my question is now my timing cover is leaking oil or oil is coming from that area dripping down by front of oil pan gasket .Can replaceing w/p cause a oil leak.My mechanic is being a jerk about it
. Thanks for any info. now if it was a grandnational i know them blind folded

Yeah, I think I've read somewhere that it's very possible. Type in timing cover leak in the search and you might find something. Hope you get it fixed.

Unlike a 3.8, LT1 waterpumps bolts to the block not the timing cover.

But there is a seal for the waterpump drive that goes thru the timing cover.
I would have them check that, the optispark drive seal, & the timing cover gasket as well.
