Unhappy Need Help

I washed the engine on the Hawk and blowed it dry with my shop vac and when I went to start it, it would just crank and not start. So, I pressed to gas pedal like a carb and then it started. After sitting in the garage now for a couple of weeks now it just cranks and wont start. Check engine soon and check gauges lights are on. Does anyone have a clue what I screwed up?

Check your battery/alternator/fuses.
Have the SES light checked/scanned for codes.

You may have fouled a knock sensor. Had that happen and it behaved like that. Too much water getting under the manifold....

never spray under the hood.

you fouled the crank/cam position sensor or a map sensor.

turn the car to run, listen to the fuel pump prime. repeat this process three times then attempt to start the car. my rule of thumb is three chimes of the accessory chime and the fuel pump has run its prime cycle.

OP: I would get the codes read and see what they say and like gofast said it sounds like your knock sensors it's common for water to get to them and corrode them. There's a really great write up for change them somewhere around here

EDIT: here it is in case you need it https://ls1tech.com/forums/general-m...k-sensors.html

You can do it safely as long as precautions are taken and you're careful. LTX motors are excluded for obvious reasons....

No codes, unhooked maf sensor and cranked and no start. Reattached maf and then engine started and ran fine with no service engine lite or check gauges lites on. Shut engine off and tried to restart.....same thing again. Cranks and no start.
So now, I'm thinking it might be a contaminated maf sensor......hell I don't know. It really doesn't make much sense.
I tried my wife's key that never gets used thinking it might be a security issue but, that didn't work either.
Guess I'll try a new maf sensor before I throw in the towel.
What the heck!

Uh have you tried to prime the pump before you start it or are you just going to throw parts at it?

Ok, how do you prime the fuel pump?

Well, as much as I hate to admit it I'm going to throw parts at it. I just ordered a SLP High Flow MAF Sensor and worse case if it doesn't work for now at least I may pickup a few horsepower.
Can a contaminated MAF sensor be cleaned? If so, with what do you clean it with?
Thanks to everyone that's trying to help me!

Just curious, how much water did you spray into the engine bay?

Not a whole lot. Engine wasn't really even dirty. Just got some dust/sand from being at car show in Wichita at the race track across from piles of sand and the wind was blowing pretty good but, most of it stayed to our east. I couldn't stand the engine bay being just a little dusty and I used my power washer (which I've never done before) with the car washing tip and made sure I stood back some distance so as to not f' somthing up. I wonder if enough water pressure got into the airlid and was able to make it past the filter and contaminate the MAF? My filter is pretty clean....could it have contaminated the MAF with dirt or something?
I know I'm fishing.......I guess we'll find out when I get the new MAF.

Question Easy Fix

Bad ignition relay. I swapped out one of the fan relays that matched and whala start right up and few more times after that. Thanks to LS1.COM !!!!!!!! I search there led me to the answer.
Perserverance pays off.
Now, anybody want to buy a brand new SLP High Flow MAF kit cheap?
