Yes, you should be worried about leaking coolant. Take a look and find out where it's coming from. I would guess it's coming down from the water pump.

The one on the left is what came off the car . The one on the right is what came with the water pump . You can see there is an o ring but it is missing the square ring . Which gasket do I use ? and if I should use the metal one where do I get the square ring ?

I prefer the style that came with the water pump. The fact that the square part is gone from the original gasket probably has a lot to do with your leak. I've seen more of those gaskets fail than the pumps themselves. If you want the OE style gasket, order some fel-pros, there is no such thing as putting the old gasket back together.

So just buy some fel pros ? Well the other gasket has both pieces but the other is missing the square one . I was thinking about buying one fel pro and reusing the factory one with a square and circle piece. Unless that is a bad idea ...

Bad idea...

get two new metal ones (like the left one in your pic)... they now have the rubber/silicone circle/square molded to the metal.

The GM ones are good and are cheaply priced.
