Default Steering column rebushing kit?

Does anyone know where I can get the steering wheel kit that takes the play out of the column? The part number would be awesome. I hear you can get it at the dealership. I want to put a Grant steering wheel on and while it's apart.

Don't know or have never heard of a steering wheel bushing, but you can do the rag joint eliminator and that will tighten up your steering and remove some of the slop, if that is what your are looking for? But this is on the steering intermediate shaft coming from the column (in the engine bay) to the rack.

Are you talking about a loose tilt wheel?

I've seen rag joint eliminators for the LT1 cars but not any for the LS1 cars. My steering wheel can tilt down towards the 7PM position if I just pull on it, then it will spring back in place when I release the pressure.

You don't need any parts. It's the inverted torxs head screws that attached the tilt plate inside. You'll need to pull the column apart. You can 90% fix by not pulling the column tilt pins on the side. You can't tighten all of them without complete disassembly though.

Explain. Tilt pins? How is the accessed from the lever? Mine is loose but do not want to go into it.

Once it is apart enough to see you have a pin on each side that the column tilts on. I'll see if I can get a pic later.

Looks a bit complicated. You mention you can fix 90% of it without disassembly? How does that work?

You can pull the steering wheel, lock plate and turn signal switch and tighten a couple of the bolts that come loose. Still a pretty good job.
