Default SES Light is on... FML.

Well I drove to work this morning started up fine drove like normal although it does have a slight knock (was told it was a rod knock from a more experienced tech then me). I think today it decided it was finally going to get worse. So I start my car up. Let it sit till the piston slap goes away. Then 10 min later I start driving. The same knock I heard before got even loudour and then BAMMMMM! ses light comes on... I don't have a tech 2 where I work. Does anyone know a place that can scan for codes like maybe car quest or napa?

Go to autozone tell them to check the light they come out and plug it in. They will show you what it is. If its nothing thats wrong they can not clear it but you can press it to clear the ses. Sounds like a motor going bad any vids?

Get yourself a multimeter and test the yellow wire coming out of the ign switch. If there's no voltage there, you have a bad switch. You can test for voltage at the signal wire on the starter solenoid as well.

Ok check your oil. Make sure to look for tiny metal shavings in the motor.

Loud knocking can be a rod or it can be a broken valve spring.

Regardless, that's a lot of oil.
