Default '99 Z28 - Power Steering Pump Replacement

I've got a small leak coming from my power steering pump.

This is a pretty straightforward replacement, right? From underneath the car, I'm guessing that I just remove the alternator which will give me access to the power steering pump. From there, just remove the old pump and re-install a new one. Nothing more complex than that? Any special install tricks or issues that I need to know?

Thanks

Bill

Nope - you get at it from the top. You need a PS pulley puller. The bolts to remove it are behind the pulley.

It can be done with the pulley on, if need be. Ive done it this way a couple times. I used a ratcheting wrench, and got it off. It was a pain in the *** though.

Thanks guys. I pulled out the Haynes manual this morning to see what they said. It looks pretty straightforward and I'm hoping to find time this coming weekend to swap the old one out. Thanks.

Replaced the power steering pump today ... wssix99 - thanks for the heads up on the pulley puller - it made all the difference.

This was a pretty straightforward replacement. It did take awhile since I spent a bit of time cleaning up all of the crud hidden below/behind the pump.

I found a tiny water pump leak, so that will be the next thing to fix.

Thanks for the help guys!
