Window problems

I would honestly just plan on buying new motors, but there are little band-aids you can do that will help. I've heard of people lubricating them which is said to work good and another thing that comes to mind is maybe putting a regulator in with the motor.
Both of my windows are pretty slow and make a lot of weird noises, but I'm just going to hope they last until I can replace them.

My window went out completely, the motor still worked but another part in there kept it from going up or down. I replaced the entire assembly for $60. Window goes up much faster now, although it's still kinda slow compared to most cars.

I've tried aftermarket motors/regulators and replacement direct-fit motors and so far the best thing (and best performing option) has been the new design Dorman motors. I still haven't heard of anyone having one of these crap out on them.
Lots of people will tell you that wiring kits are the way to go, but they just make a bad motor look better. Unless you have a broader electrical problem, the new motors should work just fine for you.

Yes on the Dorman motors. And changing out the window motor is really pretty easy. There are a few rivets that you need to drill out that hold the stock motor on and the replacement motor comes with screws to replace the rivets. The door panel comes off and goes back on easily.
There are detailed instructions available, with pictures.

I bought lifetime warranty motors from auto zone for $49 a side. Theyve both been in there for over two years without issue. If they quit ill pop them out and trade them. A slow window is an indicator of a motor ono its way out.
