Default New radiator smoking out of cap

Just installed a new radiator in a buddies Z28, and the car will get to operatiing temp, wont over heat but with the cap up it will slosh out of the top and smoke/steam out. I think it may just be air bubbles but wanted to see if anyone else has had a similar issue? Thanks
