If you're going to spend that amount on it, I'd do it at any shop locally so if it has trouble within the warranty period you can just pull in and get it fixed. If you can drop the cash on a new AC Delco at a dealership, do it, they usually come with lifetime parts and labor. Its the last dollar you'll ever spend on an AC repair. Thats what I did like 6-7 years ago.

If you're looking to spend around $200.00 for a compressor, get it from a very reputable place with unmatched customer service......www.rockauto.com

They have Four Seasons part # 68288 with 2 yr/24,000 mile warranty.....$220.00

Oh.....as far as changing other parts, its completely unnecessary. Have the new compressor put on and have it vacuumed down, thats it. The dealership technician that did mine 6-7 years ago said they never replace other parts unless they are damaged or they have a reason to think they might need changing, but if you are just replacing the compressor because it failed thats all you need to replace. They said they haven't had any returns in years and years doing it that way.
