Default Header clearance

I just installed some pacesetter LT's and a ORY pipe on my 99 TA, now under heavy acceleration I hear a thumping coming from underneath the car. When looking under the car it sure looks like it has plenty of room, does the motor twist that much?

The car has 65k miles on it with stock motor mounts. The only other place I can see that there isn't much clearance and I know that it is hitting is the crossmember behind the tranny mount. Between the driveshaft the I-pipe and the torque arm there isn't a lot of there to begin with.

One last thing for someone who has or had a pacesetter ORY pipe I hooked the exhaust bracket up that holds the passenger side of the y pipe to the tranny but that bracket is awful damn tight probably too tight cause it didn't line up the best. If I take that off will it alleviate some of my issues maybe allowing the y pipe to come down a little bit???

Also wanted to add I did the drill mod while I had my tranny out replacing the master and slave cylinders and installing the LT's. What a improvement over what it was before it has a lot better feel to it IMO.

Anyone have any thoughts, opinions, or experience with the same issues??

Its the motor mounts. Stock motor mounts move a ton even when they are new. the Generation III External Engine section seems to have daily threads about it. would have been a lot easier to put in some poly's or solids when the headers were out.

Yeah I am really kicking my self for not doing it while I had the tranny out and manifolds off for my header install!!! I just cannot believe that it flexes that much with the stock motor mounts with 65k miles. I am putting it on a buddys lift this weekend to take a better look.

Mine does the same thing. I am removing the headers this winter and cutting the flanges off and getting sleeves to mount to the Y pipe, at this point I'll also do some poly mm's just in case. Lived and learned myself.
