Does the headlight motor for firebirds have a fuse?
I was changing the gear on my driver side headlight motor ( took me 3 hours). When I finished my passenger side motor stoped working. Is there a fuse on these motors?
Thanks

This is very common...
If you look at the connector plugs for the motor, the contacts are probably all corroded to hell except for a 1/2 mm swipe where the metal actually made contact originally. When you plug the connector back together, the contact is re-made over the corrosion and current can't get through.
You'll need to get rid of all that corrosion on the pins and use dialectic grease in the plug to help keep moisture out in the future. These connections take a lot of abuse and are exposed right to the elements, particularly when the headlight doors are up.

Awesome. What's the best way to clean the contacts on the harness? What contacts are you taking about? The weather pack with like 8 wires?( the harness that is attached to the new motor?) TIA

The bottom line is that you'll need to get a voltage tester and use it on the connectors to find out whats going on. I also had a gremlin like this on some aftermarket motors I installed. The connector tested out fine and then I found that one of the wires on my new motor was cut and whoever at the factory resolved the issue by just twisting them together. (No wire nut, solder, crimp, or anything.)
So, starting at the car side of the connector will tell a lot.
The male terminals can be cleaned by removing them from the connector body and taking some steel wool to them. The females are very difficult. I ended up replacing them completely, although with a little patience, a dental pic and some emory cloth should do the trick.

Well I manually raised the headlight, stuck my hand and pressed the harness together. Now they both work
I don't know if it's from raising the headlight or pressing the harness.
But now the lights on one side go on very dim. I'm going to Change the lamp and hope that's the end

My car had a connector that was so badly gone that one of the terminals had rusted clean through.

I tried to clean the headlight- motor harness and it fell apart on the inside.
After doing a search I found part numbers 1015 and 1251 for male and female. Ordered new from eBay ($50 total).

If you are going to splice in a new connector, you'll need to be careful with the splices. The splices will take the same kind of abuse as the connector. In that area, you'll need to use a sealed crimp connector to keep water out. (You first crimp the connector and then heat shrink the shell, which also will melts glue on the inside to permanently seal it.)

Changed the harness for the headlight-motor today. Easy, but because the original wires are short it was hard to reach and took about an hour. The new acdelco harness comes with quick connect ends. You just need a good set of wire strippers. Everything earls as it should now
