did you clean your idle air control ?I wouldn't have drilled the throttle blade.some things says change your tranny fluid, maybe the converter is locking up incorrectly.

you might want to check for a vacume leak, somtimes you can spray carb cleaner around the intake and vacume lines and listen for a change in ideal, i wouldnt have drilled a hole in the throttle plate you might have added to the problem and might now have to get a tune to compensate for the extra air going into the engine. did the surging hapen after you drilled the throttle body or was it already doing it before you drilled?

I concur.
With cars being so controlled by electronics, always take the time to try many different things before any physical alterations are done.

Wish I could help you out.
Best of luck!

+1 for a vacuum leak. As stated above look around the intake and pcv system.

i have hooked up a smoke machine to inspect for vacum leaks and the surge im getting is not at full throttle but 1/4 throttle and steady speed on hwy and the surge while driving has been there before the hole was drilled

The only reason i drilled out the tb was i saw post on this site to do so and it did help the idle but my drivabilty problem is still there
and i have checked all over for vacum leaks and none were found
