Default new plugs, rough idle

Changed the plugs, wires and fuel filter this past weekend, 125k miles on car, and now the car has a rough idle. No arc no vacuum leaks etc. checked the wires all tight. Not sure what to look for now. My buddy said it sound like a cylinder is dropping off. Any suggestions

Was it doing this before you did the plugs and wires? Or did this problem start after you did the plugs/wires?

If after, then it stands to reason that something is wrong with the new parts you have installed. You said you've checked the wires for tightness, but it's possible that a wire might be bad. Or that plug gaps might be off. Or that a spark plug may have a hairline crack that could have happened during install (especially if you dropped any while installing them).

What brand of wires did you use?

Wait until the engine is cold enough to touch the exhaust ports. Start the car for a minute or less. Touch the exhaust ports again. You will probably find that one exhaust port is still cold and the others are warm.

Recheck your work on the cold cylinder.

Alternatively:

With your vehicle idling, disconnect (and then reconnect) one plug wire at a time; if the engine's idle doesn't change, then you've found your 'dead' cylinder.

make sure you didnt break the temp sensor sticking out of the drivers side head

I test all plugs and wires before I install them.

Also, if you have an IR gun you can do this check without having to actually touch the manifolds.

Cracked #2 plug was the culprit. All fixed and runs a lot smoother after the tune-up, now just hoping the gas mileage goes back up.
