knocking sound i just put my trans am back together and at first the engine was pretty quite but today it started making a knocking sound i think it may be coming from the rocker arms im not sure, the shop installed ultra gold rocker arms 1.82 ratio. the car runs good oil pressure is normal 40 idle and plus when driving, no service engine lights or anything, i read on here in some posts that the noise is normal some piston slap, but idk, i have a video but i havent been able to upload it, ima keep trying tho.

I wouldn't drive it until the rockers are checked......since they were just installed....it's a pretty good chance that's the problem. Have them checked......at least before you drive it hard.

Dont just throw pushrods in it, not saying thats what you were going to do, but you obviously have a clearance issue somewhere, and will NEED to check ptv clearance and see what is going on and why the pushrods bent in the first place... good luck!
Also, if it were me i would tear it all back down and make sure that none of the valves made contact with the pistons

i took he heads in to get polished and they assembled them in at the shop so all clearance is good, they also put it together and balanced the long block. the only thing i didnt put new in he engine were those pushrods because they were in good shape, so i think they just gave up, i found two bend rods, one was bad but the second was just a bit bend all the other ones are still straight, so just ordered a new set of comp cams pushrods that were recommended to work with the ultra gold rocker arms.
