what oil to run go safetly increase oil pressure?
My idle oil pressure is steady at 18/20psi...it was 38psi until I recently replaced the sending unit. If I run 15/30 will that bump pressure a tad....or, what oil would you reccomend fo bump pressure? Just did a cam swap so new pump/everything but still the "low" for my liking pressue.

i think you need to find the root of the problem. ive seen a few threads on the o ring at the pump tube getting pinched, causing low pressure. finding an oil to raise pressure will just mask the real issue, if you can even find an oil to do that. just my 2 cents

All that was just checked and replaced. I just replaced the sending unit, its just not oem/ac delco which I think is causing the problem. My tuner checked it with a true gauge and it reads 5 above my dash gauge, which reads 20...so essentially 25psi at hot idle. He said not to worry, but if I do worry I could add a slightly heavier weight oil to slightly bump pressure. Just wondering if it will or does work.

You could go over to bobistheoilguy.com to learn ALL you would ever need to know about engine oils.
The thick vs. thin thing is beat to death on there, but at least you will know the advantages and disadvantages of each.

How many miles are on it? And I just started running 5w40 Rotella T6. I used to keep around 75 on a cold start with 5w30 and with a touch of throttle It would go to 80. Now It goes straight to 80 and will completely peg with a little touch of throttle. Hot I used to keep around 60 now 65. This is with a ported TSP pump. My Z28 keeps around 28ish hot idle, 126k and a 70k LS6 pump.

I wouldn't think so. It held 60 cold, 45 hot before the new pump. Then went to those pressures. Sending unit has been replaced. Its been that way for a couple years maybe. Never really gave it much thought.
