Default Interior Dome lights will not turn off.

So this just started, when I open the car door lights will come on, lights will not turn off till time limit is met. If I reach through window to start car without opening door, lights will come on the entire time driving.
Things I have done so far....
*Replaced door lock actuators which house the light triggering gears.
*Disconnected the dimmer switch, lights stayed on.
*Pulled BCM and put in other car, it worked fine.
*Placed other cars BCM in car, lights stayed on.
Power windows door locks and hatch release all work fine.

Maybe some sort of ground? I am at a loss at this point. Any help is appreciated.

I wonder if you have a short of a positive wire that is energizing the wire from something else on the RAP circuit?

That could possibly be a cause. The lights get brighter when the door is open or if you use the controls to turn them on. Seems that the current it is receiving to cause them to burn full time, is not the full charge that it gets when commanded on.
Looks like I will need to track down a BCM wiring diagram.

disconnect the door switches one at a time.

then the switch for the rear hatch and check.

then last the dimmer switch and recheck.

lets start fresh and isolate the problem area.

You might also pull the fuse for the lamp and see if the light stays on and is bleeding from another circuit. If so, you could pull other fuses to tell which circuit the cross is coming from.

Pulling the fuse is the only way to turn off lights at this point.

That should make things easier as the short is probably all on the same circuit.

You need the wiring diagrams from the official GM Factory Service Manuals. (Published by Helm, Inc.) That material is copyrighted, so you will probably have a hard time finding what you are looking for unless you get a the set of 3 manuals.

So I have isolated the problem down to the group of wires that plug in to BCM. The Black plug manages to keep the lights on with the lite blue and the green plug removed. In my wife's car with either BCM once the lite blue plug is removed the lights go out.

Mine however will continue to burn up until the black plug with 6 wires is removed from BCM.
