Default A/C leaking freon somewhere

Been having a freon leak problem for about 2 months now..... I do not drive the car daily so I guess after I charge it, I am going to check it every day. I checked both high/low valves, all the connections to and from compressor, connections to/from condenser with no leaks.

Can someone chime in on any repeat offender areas on these car's A/C system???

Thanks

Do you have a sniffer? They make finding a leak pretty easy. If not then get the recharge can with the dye in it. Basically check every connection point. One connection is as possible as the other. Hopefully the leak is in the engine bay, if not you will have a lot of work ahead of you.

No Doubt.... If not in engine bay, might just yank it all and clean up the bay a tad more

Thanks for the input

I had the same issue with a leaking ac system, and I changed out the seals on the back of the compressor and it seemed to fix it.

Finally got around to get a sniffer on the car (work at an A/C place... should have been done by now ) The only hit we can find is behind the compressor and it is not a steady hit. It reads then goes back to beeping..... I guess it just might be the seals on the back side.

The seals you are talking about are for the lines that run to the back????

Those sniffers are unreliable. The best way is to introduce dye into the system and look with an ultraviolet light.

LOL! The sniffers are 100% reliable, assuming you know what you're doing with it. They don't work well with the fans running, though. Ya gotta unplug them so air movement doesn't screw with you.

OP, another place to check is the compressor case seal. The case splits in two about 1/2 way along its length, and there's an oring at that joint.
