drivetrain slop
ive got a clunk/pop noise when i engage my clutch. the noise sounds like its in the tranny. i believe its either tranny or the rear gears. i got the rear wheels off the ground and ran it. it still clunks.
with the car off i turned the rear wheels by hand and it makes the same noise. then i put it in neutral, then turned the wheels by hand again and the noise disappears. theres no pressure on the gears there.
i listened to the rear end and i can hear noise in there. the driveshaft has some play in it but thats normal.
so if it was the rear gears worn, can the slop from that travel up the driveshaft and be rattling the gears in the tranny? or is it in the tranny itself? i cant tell.
