Default Torque arm bushing gone bad?

I changed my oil today and while I had the car in the air I wanted to inspect and see if I could see where my clunking noise was coming from. Usually the only time I hear it is under deceleration and usually only when in neutral coasting (although I hear it other times as well). I had heard that these bushings go bad. I think that is the case here. Take a look and confirm my suspicions. Is that sound usually the best way to tell it has gone bad?

it is hard to tell from this picture, but the stock bushing is a 2 piece design if i recall correctly, you can get a poly version from BMR

Has anyone else had this problem and it be the bushing? I just want to make sure I am diagnosing it right. I'm thinking if it is I might just get a relocation kit. Any advice?

my stock mount had 225k on it when I replaced it and there was nothing left to it. It would make all sorts of noises. Op if youre looking for a poly mount I have one laying around on my old torque arm if you want it cheap pm me.

I will say that next week will be a good time to order if you are thinking of going with the relocation crossmember setup

Replace it. It looks like it has some room for play. I put on a poly in there replacing the rubber one on my car years ago. You will feel like you have gained some horse power least i did thats how bad mine was. Easy to remove and install.

Old thread I know...How in the hell did you make it easy to remove. I got under the car and couldn't even reach the damn top bolt. Any suggestions???

Been a long time since i replaced the piece but do what cole train suggest, i remember that what i did just don't remember the specifics, but i think you also have remove the trans mount and have a jack under the transmission holding it just in place a bit lower to get to the top bolt. Safty first at all time. I think i got the instructions for this on this website or installuniversity dot com

i use my floor jack and a 2 x 12 cut about 18" long to support the trans and then lower the crossmember a little. The hardest part of tearing out my 4L60 for the 80 conversion was dealing with the torque arm on the trans tail housing... It sucked, but now i have the BMR crossmember(4L80 conversion one) with the torque arm mount and besides the top bolts it's easy as pie to adjust and replace. I'm using an EnergySuspension poly bushing on mine also. Works awesome
