Default Right Front Turn Signal

On my way home today, randomly, my front right turn signal stopped flashing. When I moved the signal paddle to the right, the arrow would remain lit on the dash, the front right signal would not flash, and the rear right signal would be solidly lit. The front right signal bulb works when I turn on the DRL, so I know it's not the bulb. I just replaced the turn signal flasher, which only fixed some of the problem. Now the right rear signal works, the arrow flashes on the dash, but the front right signal still will not flash. The bulb up there still works with the DRL. I've been searching all day, but haven't come across an issue exactly like mine. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks

The bulb has two filaments. One for the DRL/flasher and one for the parking lights. If you check:
- Turning on the headlights with the car off
- If the hazards work

the cause of the problem may be revealed.

@ZoeMechE.
I am also having a similar problem. My front right turn signal will not illuminate and no green arrow on at the cluster. It does illuminate with the hazards on and the green arrow blinks like normal.
I replaced the signal flasher and bulbs with no results.
Have you found a solution yet to your problem?

You probably replaced the wrong flasher. There are 2 - one on the left for the hazards and one on the right for the turn signals. Did you change the one on the left?

No. I changed the one on the right. I bought it at advance- part #LL552. Should I use one from GM?

When the problem started, neither the right front or rear turn signal would blink and no clicking sound from the relay flasher. After replacing the flasher, it now clicks but only the rear turn signal will blink.

That's the wrong part. The 552 is a 6 bulb flasher, but when you are only blinking one side, you have only 3 lamps. The 552 is for the hazards.

If the 552 is working on the left, its just luck. The two sides of the car have slightly different resistance which can impact how the electromechanical flasher works on each side.

I recall that the blinker flasher is a 323 - or you can get an electronic flasher instead.

They have a EL12 alternative part # FL32 which can handle up to 10 lamps. Should I try this one?

Yea. That one should work fine and is much more flexible than the OEM thermal flashers.

Well I installed the new EL12 flasher but Nothing changed. The right front still will not flash.
Over the weekend I'll try and trace the turn signal in and out at the DRL module.

I missed that you hijacked this thread. The OP had a flasher problem. Yours might be different...

When the flasher is bad, the light will usually be on but solid, but it could be off.

The electronic flasher will take care of a lot of smaller issues, in addition to a bad flasher.

ALL of your wiring, bulb filaments, etc. are identical between the DRL module and the bulbs, so you shouldn't have to worry about much there.

You'll want to focus on the turn signal assembly (in the steering column) and at the DRL inputs.

At this point, I'd say the most likely issue is a problem in the turn signal assembly. You should be able to confirm all of this at the connector at the base of the steering column. All you need is a wiring schematic and it should be pretty easy to see if the right turn input is getting from the switch and down the column to the DRL module.

Yep, looks like a defective turn signal switch as I have no signal at the connector . Going to be some what of a challenge to replace as well.
Any particular switch manufacturer I should use?
Advance Auto has a Wells brand, is this a good fit?

The best thing about these cars - they use the standard GM steering column, which has been in circulation for decades. The parts are common, a commodity, and inexpensive. Don't worry about brand here, its all the same stuff.
