I hate to dredge up an old thread but I am on the hunt for a very similar problem that presented itself after a converter change. Poly engine mounts and good factory rubber trans mount is present, removed converter bolts, no change, removed belts no change. Droning vibration from about 1600-2400 worse about 2200.
I'd appreciate any other input...
