Default Troubles with my first Camaro

So I just bought my first camaro and I cant get the trunk open. The keyless entry did not come with the keys when I bought it a few days ago. I click the trunk button in the car and it makes the unlocking noise and trunk pops a little but it still will not open. My second key opens the doors and unlocks the T-tops but will not unlock the trunk. The guy I bought the car from will not return my calls. Its a nice car just got a few odds and ends to fix. Any help here on the trunk?

Mine does that. I have the keyless remote thing so what I do is just repeatedly press it and after 5-6 presses rather than two it unlatches enough for me to pull it up. Same thing with the in car button, I just press it a bunch of times and it unlatches just barely enough for me to pull it up. If I only press it once though it pops a little but not enough for me to be able to open it.

The trunk pop thing is very common. There are fixes available (try searching), though. As for the key thing, it seems odd that the key works the doors and t-tops but not the trunk. Maybe someone changed a cylinder?

fyi... moving this to general repairs section

Mine is the same way. Look through this thread about replacing the spring on the release.

It is on my to do list along with many other things.

I have not been able to open the trunk since I have owned it last 2 days. I will go try and buy another spring to piggyback it and see if that works.

You mean just the remote? You can find them for $20 on Amazon, then you just have to program it. Think I remember even seeing them at Autozone...

So i bought another spring from Ace hardware and piggy backed the original spring and now my trunk pops every time with one click.
