bought the red 271 loctite, and a 1x1 galvanized sheet metal, the bolts they already used should be fine with the loctit since I wont be replacing the motor anytime soon if i want to use it on the bolts there, but I may not use it for that just yet.

edit
holy crap it looks like previous owners already did this with the holes, and the screws might be stripped to bad to get out, ugh.... drill time i guess.

My passenger side window doesn't want to go up all the way. And it's SLOW.

Seeing what is required to replace a motor makes me angry. WTF GM.

Jake,
Just replaced my drivers side motor yesterday. Was actually really easy. All I did was drill 3
1/2 inch holes in the composite door where the window motor rivits are attached to the regulator, then drilled out the 3 rivits. Old motor literally falls right out, then out the new motor in with the bolts and nuts, put door panel back on and all done. Takes longer to take off and reinstall the flimsy brittle door panels than it did to drill out the rivits on old motor and install the new one

Good to hear. I need to replace both motors. I need to look and see. They may have been replaced previously, I just haven't checked.

Moderators get a little more leeway. Technically, they can't hijack something that they are helping to steer in the first place.

i put together the motor and regulator, it has 4 other screws and bolts for the regulator, but i bought from home depot, not sure which i should just use.... looks like alot of fun putting it back in, also need to figure out how to get the right tension on the spring and the right way now. also the doorman regulator wheels arent rolling at all, seem stuck, any ideas before i put it in?

update, due to rain on and off today, i was finally able to get the right plate cut out, a little trouble getting all the holes aligned, finally got it with motor up and down. The red loctite was very runny and not even sure if it is going to work, letting it cure to see, might have to let ooze in epoxy instead depending. but next up is aligning the window. picture during the day tomorrow will be added. adding the spring while in window up all the way was either slight tension or way to much about 190 degree's so i did the slight tension, hope that was right....

Great job. I wouldn't worry about the thread locker. It will stiffen up over time and a little goes a long way.

How does the window work and seal against the weatherstripping? (You may have to go through the shbox adjustment procedure now to adjust the window slightly.)

when i put it back i didnt have much to adjust, it seems to seal against the weatherstripping all around, but when closing i notice I have to close it a little harder and it pushes the backside out a little to close completely, I saw the shbox writeup for adjusting but it doesnt seem to need it.

If the backside is lagging the front in sealing against the weatherstripping, you may want to check the proceedure under "Adjusting the window parallel to the weatherstrip assembly:"

http://shbox.com/1/adj_window.html

It would be common for this adjustment to be out if your regulator is rotated even just a hair from its position leaving the factory. If you aren't parallel to the weatherstripping currently, this may seal better for you.
