spudering engine sound, firebird 2001
More recently the engine has been making a spudering sound when the gas is pressed. The more it is pressed the louder it gets. It seems to have less power and I can only assume it could be a blown head gasket, a miss-firing spark plug, or maybe a lifter. But based on how I described it is their anyway to figure this out without going to a mechanic to rip it all apart?

I assume you have NO SES light or codes in the PCM....? You should go get a code scan even if you see no SES light on.
I personally think you have a failing 02 sensor(s)........your symptoms are exactly that.
Does the hesitation clear up if you hit the pedal down harder and try to accelerate...?

Yes the ses light is on and has always been on since I got the car pretty much, abs and low oil light, but i think the low oil light is going on because the gauge isnt working and not moving, but plenty of oil.

Could just need a new coolant temp sensor....
Is your temp gauge working normally..?
