Valvetrain noise
I've got a 99 Trans Am that's been sitting for about 4 years. I finally got it running and I'm trying to get it back on the road. I did an oil change a couple days ago using mobil1 5w-30. Since the oil change, the valvetrain has been especially noisy. Sounds like more on the passenger side but I even here it out the exhaust.
I have a couple YouTube videos that I am trying

How much air is in the oil? Check the dipstick for tiny air bubbles. If its full of bubbles most likely the oring has shrunk and is letting air inti the oil. This will cause a noisy valve train.

Look carefully, they are very small but would be a lot of them. If nothing then I would say from setting the lifters are gummed up. You could try some ATF 6-8 ozs added to the oil to clean them up. OR I like TransX, although its intended for used in Auto transmissions it works fantastic for cleaning up the lifters and sealing the oil pump.

Yea the oil looks good. Maybe the lifters are gummed from it sitting and not running for so long? I didn't notice the sound before the oil change, but I didn't run it for long on 4 year old oil.
I'll try the ATF. How long should I keep it in before I change the oil again? I was thinking about seafoaming and doing another oil change but maybe I'll hold off on that.

I recommend AGAINST putting seafoam in the crankcase.

The problem with the seafoam is that I can't drive the car much to work it in since my 10 bolt is shot. I'm limited to idling in the driveway or driving up and down my block.

Forget the SEACRAP unless you like spending money on an engine. Seafoam can cause big damage used in the oil, the only way I would use it in the oil is at a idle and NOWAY in LS engine I wanted to keep.
You can leave the ATF in BUT I wouldn't run the **** out of it while its in there. I'd use 6-8 ozs of ATF and 3ozs of the TransX together. Let in there for ay least 2k, if the lifter internals are crapped up it should clean them up. I had great success with it. I usually add this with a fresh oil change.
