Default Diagnosing engine misfire... should plugs/wires be my first step?

This morning when I started my car I noticed it was idling a little rough. Nothing crazy, just enough for me to notice. I got about 4 blocks away and the SES light started flashing at me. Took it home immediately and was throwing a P0307 code, engine misfire in cylinder seven. I bought a spark tester and it lit up fine when i hooked it up there.

My next step was to clear the code and I switched the wire with another one. After about two minutes, the SES started blinking. This time it was a P0300, random cylinder misfire.

I'm trying to pinpoint this as close as I can without replacing several things, so what do you think? Since it's throwing a different code with the wire moved does that mean the wire is the problem, or should I look into the coil or injector? Really hoping it's not something internal, since that's likely more than I could tackle myself. any help is appreciated!
