Door lock issue on driver door
Suggestions? Thanks!
I can manually move the door lock latch from the inside no problem. Same if I use the key to lock instead of the door lock switch.
it's when I rely on the electronic door lock system to lock the door (it unlocks on its own fine, sometimes locks, other times it moves half way and I have to manually lock).
It's probably worth checking the voltage to the power locks also.

You will need to remove the interior door panel to access the actuator. It is connected to a metal rod that moves the door lock, and that metal rod is connected to the door lock cylinder on the outside. When you buy a replacement actuator, check the box to see that you get at least three orange or neon colored plastic o-clips. You will need to apply pressure against those metal rods which are connected via those o-clips. You simply press the rod hook from out of the self-locking tabs of the o-clips, you can figure it out when you work on your car like I did.
ALSO, the door lock actuator is mounted to the door latch on the inside. You will need to first detach those metal rods, then unplug the cable from the actuator, then unfasten the entire door latch via screws from the outside of the door. Once you have removed this entire unit, you can access that actuator. I just remembered this part now, so I wanted to help you out if this message reaches you in time.
The process was a pain in the butt, yet you can figure out the intricate system they have set-up in that door.

I did take the driver door panel off and I traced the rods to some sort of part near the door latch, but it was hard to access and I didn't know what to do with it anyway.
Is this what we need to replace?

And since I'm in the area, I have a lot of play in the driver side door handle... what is needed to resolve that?
