steering rack

Can any one tell me if a steering rack from a 2002 camaro ss will fit in my 1998 Trans am will i need the steering linkage from the camaro to make it work
Thanks any help would be great

Looks like they are all the same part numbers on rockauto.com

Actually becareful. The LS1 F-Body's have about 3 different steering racks ... The only way to truly tell which one you have is to remove the old one and compare it to a physical one.

Yea...true......or call any dealership and give them his actual VIN....then ask them what the part number is.....

From the Camaro parts layout catalog,a 2002 Z28(SS) shows a GM # 2606311(basic core) for FE2,FE4,FE7 suspensions.
From the Firebird parts layout catalog,a 1998 TA shows a GM # 2606311(basic core) for FE2,FE4,FE7 suspensions.
